The differential the most powerful upgrade in Gran Turismo 7. In many cases there will be very minor Performance Point (PP) increase/decrease between all differential upgrades. You may find the Fully Customisable LSD actually decreases PP by a considerable amount compared to all differential upgrades. The Fully Customisable LSD will give you full control of how the driven wheels, on the same axle will react to your throttle and braking inputs reliably and consistently. The Fully Customisable LSD should be the only differential upgrade you consider.

An Active LSD will automatically alter the torque distribution between the driven wheels on the same axle, to maintain as much traction as possible. This will mean you may find the vehicle's handling characteristics may change each time you enter the corner, as you will have to wait for the LSD to recognise a loss in grip before changing differential lock.

The Torque-Vectoring Centre Differential is another must upgrade. The increase / decrease in PP is negligible compared to the ability to split the torque from the front to rear wheels. This ability can further increase corner exit grip.
