Ballast is the key to a brilliant handling car for Performance Point  (PP) racing. in previous Gran Turismo titles overall vehicle weight used to play a big factor in overall performance. However, Gran Turismo 7 greatly favours heavier vehicles if a better weight balance can be achieved. Reducing overall weight has far more influence on the PP algorithm rather than the performance gain from reducing weight. Having a lighter car isn't always the best due to the increased PP.

The Power Restrictor is another key tool for a perfect build. It will give you ability to change the torque turve at high RPM's when decreasing the Power Restrictor percentage.
